The construction of the building of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, Directorate of State Guarantees and Capital Movement, on Sina Street 2-4, was completed in 1978 by architect E. Chalkia and supervised by E. Argyriadou. Before this in its place, there was a neoclassical building from 1897
that housed the Leontios School of Athens, a Greek-French school founded by the Catholic priest Konstantinos Sardologos.
The main entrance of the building is on Sina Street, but there is also a second (more private) entrance from the roof, on the first-floor level, which is accessible from the courtyard of the Catholic church of Saint Dionysius, with which the plot borders.
Additionally, next to it is the Ophthalmic Clinic of Athens, which is why some of its sections are housed on the 8th floor (the top floor) of our studied building.
