The construction of the building of the Ministry of Development (main entrance through Nikis str.), adorning the bottom left corner of Syntagma Square, began in 1963. However, due to complications caused by the underground current of Iridanos flowing directly under the site, the process was delayed and the project was completed in 1970. The Ministry of Development, despite having gone through many titles, it has been occupying the building ever since. It is a 10 story, courtyard-type building which also occupies 3 underground compartments. Its ground floor is divided in two by a passageway directly connec oof the building apart fro having a precious garden (created using flora from Mt. Lecabettus) also has an excellent visual field of Athenian landmarks such as Mount Lecabettus, the Acropolis and the Greek Parliament.
