As the main building of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, it houses many services, some of which are the General Directorate of Financial Services, the Directorate of Planning and Management of Water Services, the Coordination Services and others. It consists of a whimsical building and an interesting metal frame elevation in an angular arrangement that is consistent with the blocks’ plan. It consists of 7 identical roofs and 4 underground floors that function as parking lots. It includes lecture rooms, a canteen and a special roof. curioysly, the structure at the front of the building is not accessible, although it resembles a balcony. Opposite the Mediterranean building is the park of the gendarmerie and next to it the Henry Dunant medical centre. The location of the ministry building on the Mesogeion Avenue is of great importance, as it is the main road axis of Athens connecting the centre of the capital with the Mesogeia, aka “the land in the middle”.
